IP Telephony, better known as Voice over IP (VoIP ), enables you to make phone calls using the Internet as a transmission medium. The obvious advantage is cost reduction.

Voip Technology is built on open source and industry standards. SIP and H.323 are the best-known and most commonly used examples. Using these protocols ensures maximum flexibility to connect to the third-party a
pplications.

• SIP is the acronym of Session Initiation Protocol. SIP is a signaling protocol to establish calls and conferences in IP networks. It can be used for voice and video communication.

• H.323 was the 1st international standard for multimedia communications, facilitating the convergence of voice, video and data. This protocol can be compared to SIP. It is still used but SIP is expected to gradually become the leading protocol.
